Vegan Chocolate Avocado Cake
I made this last night and have to say it is one of the most interesting and bizarre creations to date. I found the recipe on this website and was overcome with curiousity . It was so different having no eggs, cream or butter. The butterfat comes from the avocado, 1 in the batter and 3 in the buttercream frosting. My first impression off of tasting the spoons before cleaning up are so far good. Not at all what I expected. I will have 10 testers here after lunch and will get some responses. It is curiously interesting and pretty I think.

Triple Citrus Black Pepper Pound Cake
This little beauty was one that caught my eye since I love things that are different, offbeat or just plain awkward. I made it last night and it is already gone! Who would think of Lemon Zest, Lime Zest, Orange Zest together with fresh ground black pepper in a pound cake? Trust me, it works very well and will be a hit with everyone who tastes it! It has a great citrus smell and colorful with the yellow, orange and green zest showing in the batter along with the big black grains of pepper. Innocent (looking) but deadly - CRACK PIE!
Talk about some amazing stuff. I have been reading about Crack Pie on Regis, Martha Stewart, Anderson Cooper. People are shelling out $50.00 a pie and shipping them around the world. That was enough to get me fired up looking for the recipe. It is very simple and not too pretty to look at but looks are deceiving! This is DELISH! Full of butter, eggs, (eight of them in fact) plus another for good measure, 2 kinds of sugar and a cup of heavy whipping cream to boot. If you are in New York, go there or if you talk really really nice....I'll make one for ya.

Toyota has been demonized and much of what is reported is driver error. This is one of my favorite artists Jim Harris who could simply make the organ talk. While I am a Hammond Organ fanatic the Technics is an amazing instrument that he could put through the paces like no one else. I used to wait for his next post which was almost weekly. Those stopped suddenly a few months back and I was told that he had passed away. Those of us who love this music have suffered a loss. I hope you enjoy this.

Ricotta Limoncello Pound Cake
This is possibly the best pound cake on the planet! Much has been written about pound cakes, that regardless Sara Lee (yes believe it or not) makes the best. I found this recipe and made a couple of tweaks. I doubled the vanilla extract (and be sure to use only the best Mexican Vanilla) and added 2 tablespoons of Limoncello. This thing is legendary! If you do not like pound cake use it as a door stop for that heavy door that won't stay open. It is incredibly moist and made with cake flour to give it that beautiful texture. This one melts in your mouth and will bring rave reviews!

Not the same old fat guy
I got to looking at my profile picture and thought I needed to show my new look 63 lbs lighter these days. I guess thats another story for another day....
Butter Cake
This one went so fast I didn't get pictures of the loaves. Enough butter to make Paula Deen blush! I think there were 2 sticks of butter in the cake, and 2 more in the glaze which was drizzled over and into multiple holes in the cakes. A little bit of heaven here on earth. I suspect that if you ate very much of this artery clogging delight you might be on your way to the emergency room.
Banana Blueberry Bread
This was a huge hit at the office today. Delicious! Made with 4 bananas, cinnamon, blueberries, brown sugar, vanilla, pecans and coconut. A great recipe
