Blast From The Past - Wyatt's Cafeteria Baked Eggplant Casserole

I have been craving this old dish out of the clear blue. My grandmother used to take me to Wyatt's Cafeteria when I was a little boy. I always thought it was cornbread dressing like we had at Thanksgiving and Christmas (or else I would not have eaten it!) Perhaps its the kid thing with Cheesy dishes but whatever it is a wonderful dish that I have not had in at least 20 years. What an awesome thing Google is. I tossed in "Wyatt's Cafeteria Eggplant" and there it was! I have a tough crowd here at work and use them as my guinea pigs and knew this one would be a very tough sell. Being a texture thing with several, I piled on an extra dose of cheese (knowing that would do the trick.) To my surprise everyone loved it and it was gone. If your looking for something totally different - This is not like any eggplant you have ever had.

Photos of Models

This is an amazing collection of photos from a collector of diecast cars who is a photographer. The detail is incredible. You will think you are looking at actual cars and scenes. Here is a commentary from him to read before you look. What an amazing job he has done!

Our past is a powerful draw and in so many ways we try to capture it in order to explain it to ourselves.
What started out as an exercise in model building and photography, ended up as a dream-like reconstruction of the town I grew up in. It's not an exact recreation, but it does capture the mood of my memories. And like a dream, many of the buildings show up in different configurations throughout the photos. Or sometimes, the buildings stay put and the backgrounds change.Visually, this is heading towards the realm of ART.NO PHOTOSHOP WAS USED IN THESE PICTURES. IT'S ALL STRAIGHT FROM THE CAMERA.It's the oldest trick in the special effects book:line up a model with an appropriate background and shoot. The buildings are 1/24th scale [ or 1/2 inch equals a foot ]. They are constructed of Gator board, styrene plastic, Sintra [ a light flexible plastic that can be carved, and painted ] plus numerous found objects; such as jewelery pieces, finishing washers and printed material.
